“After 30 Years As An Audiologist, I’m Done Staying Quiet About What This Industry Charges” — Why I Partnered With A $249 Hearing Aid

My name is Dr. Janet Morris. For more than 30 years I fitted hearing aids, and for most of those years I told people the same thing the industry told me: that good hearing costs thousands of dollars.

I do not say that anymore. Because once I saw what these devices actually cost to make, and what we were charging for them, I could not keep a straight face about it.

So I am going to tell you what I wish someone had told my own patients years ago.

What Made Me Angry Enough To Speak Up

The hearing aid itself, the receiver, the chip, the microphone, costs about $80 to $100 to manufacture. I have seen the invoices. I sat in the meetings.

The rest of that $4,995 price tag is the clinic on Main Street, the sales staff on commission, the area manager, the head office and the television ads. None of that goes in your ear.

For 30 years I watched people on fixed incomes walk out without help because they could not justify five thousand dollars. People who then went quiet at dinner, stopped going out, drifted away from their own grandchildren. Over a markup.

“I did not want to just complain. So I partnered with Modern Hearing. Same Knowles receivers as the big clinic brands. Real filtering, not amplification. Sold direct, so it is $249, not $4,995.”

I am not the only one. Over 100 hearing professionals across the U.S. now recommend Modern Hearing, without being paid to do so.

Modern Hearing device

Modern Hearing fuses cutting edge technology with a sleek, compact design.

What is Modern Hearing?

Modern Hearing is a new kind of hearing aid, built by a U.S. company that went straight to the same manufacturers the big brands use, to do one thing better than anyone else: make speech clear.

Most older hearing aids simply make everything louder, background noise included. That is why so many people give up on them and leave them in a drawer.

Modern Hearing works differently. Its chip processes speech and background noise separately, then recombines them, so voices come through clean while the clatter fades back.

The result is clear, distinct speech and effortless hearing, no matter the environment.

A quiet living room. A busy restaurant. A family gathering with the grandchildren all talking at once. You simply hear.

And it does all of this in a device so small that most people will never know you are wearing it.

"I Can Finally Hear Everything!" "I've struggled with hearing loss for years, but Modern Hearing has changed everything. For the first time in ages, I can hear clearly again, whether it's my grandchildren laughing or a quiet conversation with my husband. The clarity is amazing, and I no longer have to ask people to repeat themselves. Modern Hearing has truly given me back the joy of hearing!"

“But Isn’t $249 Too Cheap To Be Real?”

This is the question I get most. And the honest answer is that the cheap reputation comes from one place: the $40 junk on Amazon.

Those are not hearing aids. They are amplifiers. They make everything louder at once, voices, traffic, your own breathing, and cannot separate speech from noise. People try one, give up, and decide all affordable hearing aids must be junk.

A real hearing aid has a digital chip that filters sound and pushes voices forward. That chip alone costs around $80. In a $39 device, it simply is not in there.

Modern Hearing has it. It uses Knowles receivers, the same supplier as Miracle-Ear and Costco, and it is FDA registered as a medical device. The Amazon amplifiers are not. Same core technology as the clinic, sold direct, for 95% less.

Enjoy hearing, enjoy life

They are wonderful. I went to another well known hearing place, got tested, and my aids would have cost me $7,400. I saw Modern Hearing and gave them a try. WOW, I am really happy I did. These fixed my problem right out of the box. I recommend them 100%.

I love my Modern Hearing aids. They are so very well made, easy to adjust, no screeching or whistling sound. I also like that they are easy to clean and I do not have to keep ordering ear guards.

These are a lot better than the ones I had. I can hear clear and they fit pretty good. I have tried about three or four from Amazon, none worked. I will keep these, thank goodness!

Modern Hearing vs A Traditional Hearing Aid

Traditional hearing aids are bulky, expensive, complicated and outdated. They cost $2,500 and up, need a prescription, an appointment and a hearing test.

Modern Hearing is nearly invisible, affordable, simple and modern. $249. No prescription. No appointment. Rechargeable.

Backed by a 45-day at-home trial and a 1-year warranty with free replacements.

Where Can I Get Modern Hearing?

You can get the genuine Modern Hearing device directly through the official website. It was founded by David Taylor, whose own father struggled to hear and couldn’t afford the clinic prices on Social Security.

Medicare would not cover a single dollar. That is the part that still makes me angry. People pay in their whole lives, and the one thing they need to stay close to family, it will not touch.

Taylor knew what the parts actually cost. So he built Modern Hearing from a New Jersey warehouse: same components as the big brands, no clinic, no commission, no markup. When I saw that, I reached out.

And because it makes me this angry, I asked them to do something for my readers. They agreed to hold the price at $499 $249, with a 45-day trial and a 1-year warranty with free replacements.

A word of caution: there are cheap knock offs that copy the look but cannot back it up. You can only get the genuine Modern Hearing online, not in stores.

It ships fast from the U.S., and the reviews are excellent. Most people have nothing but good things to say, which gives buyers confidence they are getting something that will last.

Best of all, it comes with a 45-day at-home trial. If you are not hearing better, send it back.

With high demand, supplies are limited, so be sure to follow the link below to claim your $249 Modern Hearing device NOW before supplies run out.

UPDATE: the response to this has been bigger than anyone expected. I asked Modern Hearing to hold the $249 reader price as long as they can, but stock is moving fast. If the Add to Cart button still works when you check, the deal is still on. Once it is gone I cannot promise they will do it again.

i bought three pairs off amazon over two years. all junk. loud and screechy, nothing was clearer. then a friend told me those are just amplifiers not real aids. these modern hearing ones actually separate the voices out. night and day

what got me was the line about the parts only costing 80 to 100 dollars. you pay five grand at the clinic and 80 of it is the actual hearing aid. the rest is the fancy chair and the salesman. unreal
